Building up
Jonathon Couriard went out in Round 1 at his first Outdoor World Championship in 2021, reached the quarter-finals in 2022, made the final in 2023 (6th) and finished fourth in 2024.
Bronze
In 2025 he took bronze as Joon-ho Baekwol won the title.
Cagliari
In August 2026 Couriard won the Outdoor World Championship in Cagliari. In five evading chukkas of the final he was tagged only once, surviving an average of 171.4 seconds per chukka, and he went the whole championship without a Fish Out of Water infraction.
The Ear
Couriard's Polo Response Latency has stayed under 300 ms since 2024 (276 ms in 2026). A fast, short Polo gives the Marco less sound to locate, which is why the fastest responders tend to survive longest outdoors.
