Draw procedure confirmed for Sapporo 2027
Ninety-six athletes, sixteen Round 1 heats, and a seeded draw based on the World Ranking.
The Technical Commission has confirmed the draw procedure for the 2027 Indoor World Championship in Sapporo (13–21 March 2027).
Round 1 will be contested in sixteen heats of six. The top sixteen athletes in the Indoor World Ranking on 1 February 2027 will be placed one per heat; the remaining places will be drawn by lot. As now, the order in which athletes act as the Marco within each heat is drawn in the call room under Article 6.1.2.
The reigning champion, Aaron Warburton, currently leads the Indoor World Ranking on 1767 points.
