Chapter 12: Tag Officiating

Article 12.1: The tag

1. 12.1.1A tag is valid if the Marco makes deliberate contact with an evader with any part of the hand, from the wrist to the fingertips.
2. 12.1.2Contact with the Marco's elbow, head or foot is not a tag.
3. 12.1.3Contact through hair alone is not a tag. Contact through swimwear is a tag.
4. 12.1.4An evader who swims into a stationary Marco's hand is tagged.

Article 12.2: Tag Referees

1. 12.2.1Each heat shall have two Tag Referees, positioned on opposite sides of the basin.
2. 12.2.2Where the Tag Referees disagree, the Chief Referee decides, using video replay if available.
