Couriard wins Outdoor world title in Cagliari
The first British Outdoor World Champion, and a British double.
Jonathon Couriard of Great Britain is the 2026 FIMP Outdoor World Champion. He won the final at the Poetto Open-Air Basin with 210 points, ahead of the defending champion Joon-ho Baekwol on 130.
Couriard was tagged only once in five evading chukkas, surviving an average of 171.4 seconds per chukka, the highest by any Outdoor finalist since Hawk-Ear tracking began in 2011.
The win completes a British double: Aaron Warburton won the Indoor World Championship in Rotterdam in March.
